Rivers and lakes of the Carinthian region have excellent conditions for fresh water fishing and catching brown trout, grayling, rainbow trout, carp, chub, barbel, pike, sheatfish, Danube salmon and other fish. This is undoubtedly due to great concern for preservation of the favourable water quality and the tradition of conservation, breeding and fishing in the Carinthian region.
